Position Description

QIAGEN is seeking an experienced medical device engineer to lead our team of engineers in our office in Barcelona as Head of Engineering R&D. The role offers the opportunity to drive our QIAGEN medical device portfolio with state of the art solutions ensuring quality, availability and cost effectiveness. You will manage a team of engineers and external partners and work on development projects in the global QIAGEN R&D framework. This is a 100% onsite position.

Your tasks :

  • Lead a team of engineers.
  • Build and manage a network of internal and external partners contributing to R&D activities.
  • Ensure that your team delivers within time, cost and quality and define measures in case of deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with own processes, as well as relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Organize within this group lifecycle activities for existing products including troubleshooting, third level support, continuous improvements and change control.

Position Requirements

Your profile :

  • University degree in Science, Engineering or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience and management position in an R&D environment.
  • Experience in development of medical devices.
  • Experience in building and managing a network of internal and external development service providers.
  • Strong organizational skills (you can manage a growing number of tasks), analytical thinking, strong solution orientation and creativity.
  • Fluent knowledge of Spanish and very good command of English (C1 level).
  • Ability to work 100% on site in our Barcelona office.
