About The TeamOur finance team plays a key role in managing and analyzing financial data to ensure compliance and business performance. As a Financial Accountant, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, working in a hybrid setting that combines remote work and in-office presence at our office in Barcelona, Spain for one of our companies.
Key Responsibilities: General Accounting
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients, handling complex inquiries and issues promptly.
Invoicing (accounts receivables) and bills recording (accounts payables)
Manage and review accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Perform and review reconciliations of high-value and complex accounts, including intercompany accounts and multi-currency transactions.
Calculate and record accruals and provisions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
Handle the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately, and any discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
Financial Reporting:
Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Conduct detailed financial analysis, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow variances, and present insights to senior management.
Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Advanced Reconciliations and Financial Analysis:
Perform high-level reconciliations, including intercompany, bank, and subsidiary reconciliations, and resolve complex discrepancies across multiple systems.
Assist in presentations on the company's financial performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends to senior management.
Assist in the preparation and regular review of financial forecasts and budgets, providing strategic recommendations based on financial trends and business conditions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in financial reporting (experience in a Big Four firm preferred)
Being fluent in Spanish and English, both written and verbal, is essential
Advanced knowledge of accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like macros, lookups, and pivot tables.
In-depth understanding of GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements.
Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
Proactive in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
Legally authorized to work in Spain.
