Position Overview
Condé Nast is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Partner to join our Spain team. Reporting to the Spain’s Head of FP&A, will be part of our EMEA Finance Business Partnering team and will collaborate closely with the local leadership team and other European and Global stakeholders to provide strategic financial insights, drive business performance and support the decision making process.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for annual budgeting and forecasting process, including forecast revisions throughout the year for assigned brands and/or functions (which could be Commercial, Editorial, Enabling Functions…), working under the standards set by Corporate FP&A and in conjunction with EMEA and Global Functional Finance Business Partnering teams.
- Provide timely and accurate management support and analysis, identifying key issues, including deviations from budgets and forecast revisions for assigned brands and/or functions during month end.
- Partnering with the Controlling team to ensure that actual results are presented in a timely and accurate manner and that input is received to assist in the preparation of variance analysis and commentary.
- Assemble and summarise data to structure understandable reports on financial statements, track and determine financial performance by analysing actual results in comparison with forecasts (variance analysis), risks and opportunities.
- Develop dynamic and refreshable functional reporting packages to be presented in regular business status updates with relevant business teams.
- Become a trusted resource of overall brand/functional performance for key stakeholders.
- Work hand in hand with business providing support as required in understanding functional financial performance.
- Maintain a strong relationship with relevant stakeholders to gain insight into functional performance and opportunities, and the subsequent impact on financial plans and forecasts.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reporting.
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
- Provide ad hoc analysis in support of business development opportunities, and internal investment requests, in an effort to unlock new revenue streams.
- Be an active member in the EMEA and Global Finance team participating in European/functional special projects.
- Ad Hoc duties and the ability to be flexible.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. A qualified accountant title (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- From 5 to 10 years of experience in related roles. Preferably with a focus on Commercial Finance and a deep understanding of sales and marketing dynamics.
- Experience in the industry or relevant sectors is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in the use of emerging data technologies, capabilities, practises and strategies.
- Strong communications, influencing and interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- An ability to think outside the “box” and a desire to use financial skills to help develop and grow the business.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
