Field Application Engineer Test&Measurement for Spain&Portugal

Our goal is to strengthen the brand in Spain. We are looking for you to work as a Senior Systems Engineer who is responsible for driving technical service resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through providing pre and post-sales technical / functional support to current and prospective customers. This position is responsible for providing systems engineering support for Company clients in a 24X7 service organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Act as a lead customer issue resolution engineer and take ownership of all assigned tickets.
• Experience in Knowledge Transitions and working as a customer lead.
• Collaborate with other technical specialists when carrying out assigned duties.
• Effectively negotiate with technical peers and customers to implement technical solutions.
• Maintain skills to the current industry level of certification.
• Analyze technical problems and create solutions using existing techniques and / or tools.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Prepare and recommend technical alternatives involving technology, methodology, tools, processes, and solution components.
• Assist the Project Manager by providing a technical project coordination role.
• Liaise with relevant support teams for all clients to ensure they are informed about relevant progress and issues relating to Unix server management.
• Abide by Change Management and Problem Management procedures, including compliance with Service Level Agreements as documented in the Problem Severity matrix.
• Create regular reports for Management requirements.

Work Experience :

Overall 8 to 12 years of Unix System Administration experience, with at least 7 years in an AIX environment. AIX Certification, HACMP Certification, or TSM Certification will be an added advantage.

Mandatory :

• Adequate knowledge of AIX platform and strong fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge and experience in AIX.
• Good understanding of troubleshooting and AIX commands.
• Strong experience in interfacing external devices like Storage, Networking, and backup devices.
• Experience on the following layered products is mandatory: HACMP, HMC / LPARs, NIM, VIOS, SP / PSSP / CSM.
• Capability to plan and execute UNIX Security.
• Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP.
• Loading of software, Networking, TCP / IP, NFS, NIS & DNS.
• Added experience in DCE / DFS, Workload balancing, Power7 virtualization.

Qualification :

• Engineering Degree from a Premier Institute (Electronics, Computer Science, etc.).
