The Manufacturing Engineer will assess manufacturing processes and mechanical integrity of products to ensure they will meet or exceed the company and customer’s expectations. This role is responsible for the implementation of new products into the manufacturing environment, applying lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and design and process improvements.
Core Functions
Identify, analyze, and implement continuous quality improvement in design and manufacturing process efficiency, safety, quality, and cost.
Develop work processes to ensure that products are assembled properly and meet quality objectives through work instructions and training.
Perform capacity analysis, manufacturing process design, and line layout design for existing and new manufacturing processes and machine needs, and develop better tools or systems.
Participate in procurement, installation, and runoff of new equipment processes.
Coordinate, provide input, and participate in the specification, design, build, development, and launch of new products.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field required.
Manufacturing engineering experience.
Ability to analyze and redesign using AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Techniques.
Experience in Six Sigma and TPS.
Travel
Occasional travel is required, especially between local ARE facilities (within a 15-mile radius of one another).
