Interim Accounting Manager (Iberia) with Spanish and English

Our client is a global leader in home and building automation. In this role, you will lead the finance function across Spain and Portugal, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations, driving financial reporting excellence, and spearheading finance transformation initiatives. As a team manager, you will be responsible for internal and external audits, statutory consolidation, and process automation to enhance efficiency. Main responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, assigning tasks, providing support, and ensuring high performance.
  • Finance Transformation: Drive process automation, ERP system integration (SAP), and financial reporting improvements.
  • Accounting Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Compliance & Control: Implement and monitor internal controls, ensuring regulatory and tax compliance across markets.
  • Audit Management: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
  • Strategic Finance Leadership: Provide financial insights to senior management, supporting mergers, acquisitions, and business decisions.

Core skills / experience

  • Leadership & Management: Proven experience in leading finance teams and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS, local taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Finance Transformation: Experience with SAP integration, process automation, and financial system enhancements.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to align financial processes with business objectives and drive efficiency.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience: +5 years in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional accounting accreditation (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
  • Detail-oriented, with a hands-on and organized approach.
