Job Description:

Education and Qualifications:

Required:

1. Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering or similar (averaged qualification above 7 over 10)
2. Master’s degree completed
3. Fluency in Spanish, with competence in Catalan and English (both written and spoken)
4. Technically skilled, with high level of autonomy and multidisciplinary profile

Experience and Knowledge:

- Experience in optimizing and performing bioassays using magnetic particles (MP)

- Familiarity with different strategies for particle surface bioengineering

- Basic understanding of electrochemical detection techniques

- Paper microfluidics or production of paper-based diagnostic devices

- Knowledge of the reference techniques for the diagnosis of infectious diseases

- Experience in the optimization and validation of diagnostic assays

Desired:

- Familiarity with work under sterile conditions and handling of infected samples

- Previous experience working in the field in poor countries

- An interest in applied research and technology transfer

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

Labour Conditions:

1. Part-time position: 36 h/week
2. Starting date: 01/03/2025 (until July 2027)
3. Gross annual salary: 20.545€/year (Remuneration consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
4. Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
