ADCS Engineer

Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for an ADCS Engineer on behalf of a company in Spain that was founded in 2017 and are focused on the development of missions based on Nanosatellites as well as products and services related to them. Their mission is to help their clients to develop their business plan designing, manufacturing and operating satellites in order to execute the application they need. While they are a new company, their team has been involved in several complete nanosatellite missions, from specification to delivery, during the last 15 years. This company's technical team is composed of systems engineers, electronic engineers, AIV engineers, software and operations engineers and project managers; with a large experience on IOD, communication, commercial and scientific missions, with private and public institutions such as the European Space Agency. They utilize their design and testing methodologies, which allows the use of components from various suppliers, to create the most suitable platform for the requested mission. During more than a decade, all their nanosatellites missions have been fully designed in-house, following the same multi-provider approach, resulting in a 100% success rate in orbit for all launched missions.

Responsibilities

1. Analyzing user needs and developing various mission concepts that align with their requirements.
2. Creating mission and technical specifications for subsystems, with a focus on propulsion and attitude determination and control systems (ADCS).
3. Developing internal tools for mission analysis.
4. Designing and defining architectures for space systems to support the implementation of proposed mission concepts.
5. Conducting system performance analysis, primarily focused on delta-V and pointing budgets, while also providing support for power, link, and mass budgets, among others.
6. Selecting physical components to implement the chosen architecture.
7. Managing both internal and external interfaces across all mission elements.
8. Collaborating with technical teams within the organization as well as external stakeholders, such as launch providers and customers.

Skills

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in aerospace engineering, with a strong systems engineering background.
2. Fluency in English.
3. More than 4+ years of experience in space missions involving small satellites or CubeSats.
4. Strong background in ADCS.
5. Proficiency in STK or GMAT software.
6. Knowledge of systems engineering principles.
7. Strong background in Python programming.
