Research Assistant / Baker

The Research Assistant / Baker will support the Research and Development team in conducting research and experiments related to product innovation and improvement, with a focus on baking applications using oils and oleochemicals. This role combines laboratory research with hands-on baking expertise, ensuring that formulations, processes, and products meet quality and performance standards. The position requires a strong understanding of food science, baking techniques, and product testing, as well as the ability to document findings and provide insights for product development.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in Food Science, Baking and Pastry Arts, Chemistry, or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a research or baking-related role, with a focus on product development.
• Hands-on experience in baking, food formulation, or the use of oils and oleochemicals in food products is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food chemistry.
• Ability to conduct research, analyze results, and document findings clearly and accurately.
• Good understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with laboratory management software is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Environment

This position involves both laboratory and kitchen environments, where the Research Assistant / Baker will be involved in both research activities and hands-on baking. The role may require the use of specialized equipment and handling of food ingredients. Some evening or weekend work may be required based on research and testing schedules.
