We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Valencia. The role involves working flexible/swing shifts, and the candidate will be expected to participate in a rotation for weekends and holidays. The ability to work independently and experience in genetics or molecular biology techniques are considered a plus; however, we are prepared to provide training for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard biology laboratory techniques, including laboratory math, pipetting, and buffer preparation.
- Execute molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA extraction (manual and automated), nucleic acid quantification, PCR, RT-PCR, MLPA techniques, and sample library preparation for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Operate and maintain NGS platforms (Thermo Fisher and Illumina).
- Ensure daily setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Interpret and report results, demonstrating expertise with specific instrument platforms and controls.
- Follow regulatory, quality assurance, quality control, and safety protocols to maintain audit-ready standards.
- Work in a biohazard environment while complying with safety policies and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (Ciclos Formativos de Grado Superior).
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and standard laboratory practices.
- Hands-on experience with NGS platforms (Thermo Fisher and Illumina).
- Basic understanding of MS Office programs.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken, strongly preferred).
- Previous experience with automated liquid handling equipment is a plus.

- Familiarity with national and international accreditation programs (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO) and experience with compliance inspections.

- Dependability in following instructions, meeting deadlines, and adapting plans as necessary.
