Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's short- and long-term objectives, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability.
Lead the financial planning and analysis process to support business decisions, including investment evaluations, capital budgeting, and cost management.
Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, helping shape key business decisions and corporate strategies.
Provide strategic guidance on capital financing options to support company's growth needs.
Act as adviser and challenger to the CEO and other board members to ensure the business goals are met, resources, and processes are appropriate and delivered.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, semiannual, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards (Local GAAP, Group and US' GAAP).
Analyze financial performance, variance analysis, and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Cost analysis and identification of efficiencies to reduce costs, besides assessing and implementing mitigation measures when situations require.
Prepare and present financial reports to executive management, the board of directors, and stakeholders within the international group.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring all departmental budgets are aligned with corporate objectives.
Continuously review and update forecasts and projections, adjusting for market conditions and internal factors.
Monitor financial performance against the budget and/or forecast, providing analysis on deviations and corrective actions.
Processes, Internal Controls & Compliance:
Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Review and assess the effectiveness of the current processes in place and propose improvements when deemed necessary.
Lead internal audits and ensure the company complies with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions.
Work closely with external auditors to ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
Comply with SOX regulations.
Cash Flow & Risk Management:
Oversee the management of cash flow to ensure the company meets its financial obligations and optimizes working capital.
Assess financial risks, including market fluctuations, credit risk, and operational risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage and further develop banking relationships and financing arrangements as needed to support operational needs and business expansion.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring their professional growth and alignment with the company's objectives.
Implement training programs to enhance the technical and leadership skills of the finance staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Cross-Border Financial Management:
Coordinate financial operations across different international regions and ensure consistency in financial practices within the global group.
Work with the parent company's finance leadership to align group-wide financial goals, reporting, and compliance.
Monitor tax regulations, and international accounting standards that impact the company's global operations.
Investment and Growth:
Collaborate with the executive team to assess financial implications of growth initiatives and support decision-making.
Support business growth with adequate financial analysis, advice, and funding.
Determine, support and promote sound business cases (cost prices) and bidding processes.
