About the job

The Global Distribution Network Design Manager has a key role in the development of the Global Logistics strategy. He or She will autonomously design, develop, and optimize distribution networks within SANOFI and supplier scope. The Manager will build up core teams between 5 and 10 people and drive projects with a global or regional scope. Strong analytical skills, extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, and a deep understanding of network modeling and simulation. The projects require a strong transversal collaboration with other functions and the applicant is expected to understand Requirements within the bigger SANOFI picture accordingly.

Key Accountabilities

1. Project Management: Lead and manage network design projects from project planning to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
2. Design and Optimization: Develop, design, and optimize the logistics network, to reach optimal total supply chain cost and best service level possible, with sustainability and resilience in consideration.
3. Modeling and Simulation: Utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools (AIMMS, Llamasoft) to analyze and simulate network performance under various scenarios.
4. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment with business objectives and operation practices.
5. Data Management: Collaborate with SC Analytics and Digital SC to build system architecture for data need of network design models.
6. Change Management: Manage change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption by developing and implementing effective change management strategies and communication plans.
7. Benchmark: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in distribution network design.
8. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve the processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
9. Other projects: Support manager in other Logistics Solutions Design priorities and projects.

About you

Skills/Expertise/Experience:

• Proven experience in logistics network design and optimization: Proficiency in network modeling and simulation software (e.g., Llamasoft, AIMMS).
• SC & Logistics Experiences: 5-8 years’ experience in different areas of the end-to-end SC or logistics process, proving a thorough understanding of value drivers and influence factors to drive SC optimization. Ideally within a highly regulated industry or cost-driven such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or healthcare.
• Analytical skillset: Strong experience in analysis of extensive amounts of data towards data-driven decision making. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, PBI) and the ability to transform insight from data analytics into the solution.

Preferred Skills/Expertise/Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong Project Management Skills: 3-5 years’ experience in driving projects within the supply chain and more specifically logistics area. Proven track of complex projects covering all stages from initial assessment over business case to design and implementation.
• Cultural Competence and Global Mindset: A global mindset, with experience managing and leading cross-cultural teams in multiple regions. Ability to navigate complex regulatory, operational, and cultural landscapes across diverse markets.

• Languages: Fluent spoken and written English.
