Procurement Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing processes. Align purchasing activities with company business objectives, focusing on engineering and technical needs.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers with a technical and engineering focus. Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure consistent supply chain performance while maintaining engineering standards and specifications.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Oversee procurement budgets for engineering projects. Conduct detailed cost analysis, evaluate market trends, and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or technical requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform in-depth analysis of procurement data related to engineering materials and equipment. Prepare reports on supplier performance, cost efficiency, and areas of improvement for purchasing processes.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure that procurement aligns with the technical and operational needs of engineering projects.
Contract Negotiations and Management: Lead negotiations for procurement contracts related to machinery, equipment, and other engineering needs. Ensure all agreements meet technical specifications, quality standards, delivery timelines, and budget constraints.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency, especially in the engineering supply chain.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards related to the procurement of engineering-related equipment and materials. Manage procurement risks associated with delivery timelines, supplier performance, and cost fluctuations.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, focusing on building expertise in the engineering supply chain. Establish performance metrics and support team members' professional growth.
Technology and Systems Management: Utilize advanced procurement software (e.g., ERP systems) to manage purchasing workflows, track supplier data, and ensure timely deliveries in alignment with engineering requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related fields). A Master's degree or additional certifications in procurement is a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with a strong focus on engineering-related materials, machinery, and equipment.
Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost analysis in an engineering or industrial environment.
Strong proficiency in data analysis and procurement software (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and project management teams.
Deep knowledge of engineering specifications and procurement regulations.
Preferred:
Experience in an international or multinational organization.
Certifications in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are an advantage.
Proficiency in advanced Excel or other data analysis tools.
