You will be joining a Madrid-based growing team of 7 professionals (“giraffes”) and will work in close collaboration with fellow giraffes in Madrid and other Green Giraffe offices around the world on international energy transition projects.

As a senior member of our advisory deal team, you will be right in the middle of all the action. From originating and working on impactful transactions to leading missions with autonomy, you will be accountable for the smooth execution of advisory missions relating to financial structuring, raising debt or leading M&A transactions. You will be the primary point of contact for prospects, clients, other stakeholders and the rest of the team. This is the ideal job for you to apply your analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset for out-of-the-box solutions and make use of your well-established local business relationships in the Spanish and Iberian market.

The scope of this role will include :

• Originating financial advisory missions in the energy transition, by utilizing and expanding your existing business network in Iberia and building upon our existing relationships
• Being innovative and entrepreneurial in finding new business opportunities in Iberia
• Taking responsibility for advisory missions e.g. relating to financial structuring, raising required debt or supporting M&A equity finance transactions
• Leading the interactions with clients, banks and other project stakeholders
• Supervising financial analysts on the development and management of financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projects
• Overseeing due diligence processes including work prepared by other advisors
• Gathering of market intelligence on sectors of interest to the company such as electricity markets, debt markets or venture capital markets and emerging sectors of the energy transition
• Participating actively in the business development activities (conferences attendance) of Green Giraffe in Spain and surrounding countries
• Being active in sharing knowledge locally and internationally, building networks and lead business development
• Active participation in an entrepreneurial, international and dynamic team focused on making projects happen and going the extra mile for the client

We are looking for someone with a master's or similar degree, preferably in Finance or Engineering, having 15+ years of relevant work experience (including a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in M&A or project finance) and a demonstrated interest in the energy transition.

In addition, the candidate should demonstrate :

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish (Spanish mother tongue preferred)
• Leadership in the energy transition industry with a breadth of relationships in the industry
• Inspiring mentoring skills, in order to motivate and lead the team by example
• Commercial skills and proven track record in the sector
• Excellent analytical skills and an ability to learn quickly
• A strong understanding and mastering of financial concepts and products
• The ability to communicate complex ideas with ease and simplicity
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible approach towards time zones
• Initiative, ownership and accountability for allocated tasks
• The ability to work in cross border teams with a willingness to travel abroad
• Empathy and willingness to understand the needs and aspirations of relevant stakeholders
• An additional language (Portuguese, French, Italian, German or Dutch) would be a great plus

This job is to be filled on a permanent contract basis and full-time along with an attractive salary package.
