Transmin is a world-class provider of innovative engineered equipment, aftermarket parts and services to the mining resources and bulk material handling industries, throughout Australia and Internationally. Established over 35 years ago and with our headquarters in Malaga, Perth we have a broad customer base in the mining and minerals processing industry.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing, fully supported and truly multi-disciplined engineering team where you will be given your own portfolio of projects with all the responsibility that comes with each.

The role will be varied and challenging, you will be required to provide quality mechanical design and engineering capability for new capital equipment builds / jobs; and provide engineering and technical support product support services to other business units as required.

About the Role

• Performing and verifying designs using first principles, calculations, FEA, and / or current best practice engineering methods;
• Ensuring designs are compliant with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements and client specification, and Safety in Design philosophy;
• Leading and mentoring team members towards peak performance;
• Undertaking analysis to identify root cause problems and providing alternative solutions that meet both design and production requirements;
• Maintaining effective client relationships, advising and interfacing with client representatives on design and risk management decisions;
• Perform various mechanical equipment engineering and design tasks at all job phases, from initial client enquiry / bid to installation, commissioning and site support;
• Consult on a technical basis with product development teams in the development and innovation of existing and new standard engineered mechanical products, including specific research and development projects.

About You

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
• Minimum of 7-10 years in a mechanical design / engineering role;
• Previous experience with bulk materials handling equipment design;
• High level of attention to detail;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
• Analytical and innovative;
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential;
• Previous experience in 3D modelling.
