An exciting opportunity has recently become available for a Technical Consultant in our Digital Computational Pathology (DCP) to join our South Europe team.

We contribute by researching, developing, manufacturing, selling, and implementing solutions for driving the digital breakthrough of pathology. The highly innovative and customized solution consists of state-of-the-art ultra high-resolution scanners for digitization of tissue samples, fully integrated software to allow viewing, diagnosis, and 3rd party AI analysis to be performed on the scanned images, and depending on the needs, a turnkey IT hardware infrastructure including all compute and storage needs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to growing our DCP business by implementing complex IT solutions for our healthcare customers.

This role focuses primarily on Iberia and the primary location is Madrid. This job is a remote position with occasional travel to customers’ sites. You must be willing to travel and support other countries as part of a wider European team.

Your role :

  • Implementing the Digital Pathology IT solutions for new customer projects enabling storing and real-time streaming of up to petabytes of data.
  • Upgrading existing customers to newer versions of the software.
  • Ensuring the customer lifecycle with the Digital Pathology solutions is smooth by participating in incident and problem management activities.
  • Supporting troubleshooting of Digital Pathology in our customers in Europe.

More specifically your tasks include :

  • Working with incidents of the server software solutions in Philips and Customer managed environments.
  • Consulting customers on technical IT topics and questions.
  • Collaborating with scanner engineers to connect high-resolution tissue scanners to the IT backends that you set up and maintain.
  • Working with server and storage hardware with Philips managed standardized platforms.
  • Resolving incidents and finding clever workarounds for possible technical issues.
  • Developing and maintaining implementation best practices, documenting procedures, standards, and configuration settings.
  • Providing technical contact to customers during the implementation phase and owning the customer experience to ensure successful delivery and installation.
  • Working as an active part of a project team to provide the customer with a predictable and professional delivery experience.

You're the right fit if :

  • Fluent in Spanish and possess good English skills, both written and oral (Italian / French skills are a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft SQL, Active Directory, Group Policies, VMWARE, and networking.
  • Experience working in production environments against SLAs.
  • Knowledge of common security technologies and practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
  • Strong ability to understand customer requirements and work with the Project team to find the best solution.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of customers and ability to liaise effectively with internal and external support functions.
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours when needed (rare cases).
  • Proven documentation skills and ability to produce precise reports as necessary.
  • Passionate and self-driven to drive things forward and develop yourself.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
