Data Scientist / Data Engineer

For a prestigious Swiss client, we are currently looking for a Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join the Innovation & Technology Team.

Some people might call themselves data scientist, others call them data engineer. This position could be a great fit for both!

Job specific requirements for the search:

1. An excellent university degree (PhD is a plus) in natural science, mathematics, computer science, finance, engineering or similar.
2. At least 3+ years of professional experience in a Data Science / Data Engineering role.
3. A deep understanding of data structures, AI vector databases like Databricks and their underlying concepts.
4. Experience with Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, and RAG implementations is a plus.
5. Good knowledge in statistics and mathematics.
6. Experience of model deployment and solutions using cloud services (preferably Azure DevOps, or AzureML).
7. The ability to understand customer needs and solve real-world problems.
8. A background in algorithm development (SQL, Python, git, DevOps) and familiarity with agile methods is a must.
9. An active interest in current AI developments with best practices.
10. Fluent English on a C1 level is required.

On the person itself:

1. We look for someone who is located in or near Barcelona.
2. The person should be willing to go to the office once a week.
3. Some traveling will be required in order to meet the entire team once or twice a year.
4. The person should be very interested in new technology and willing to learn.
5. Experience with vector databases is a must-have since this will be the major task for the first year.
