Data Scientist / Data Engineer

For a prestigious Swiss client, we are currently looking for a Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join the Innovation & Technology Team.

Some people might call themselves data scientists, others call them data engineers. This position could be a great fit for both!

Job Specific Requirements:

• An excellent university degree (PhD is a plus) in natural science, mathematics, computer science, finance, engineering, or similar.
• At least 3+ years of professional experience in a Data Science / Data Engineering role.
• A deep understanding of data structures, AI vector databases like Databricks, and their underlying concepts.
• Experience with Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, and RAG implementations is a plus.
• Good knowledge in statistics and mathematics.
• Experience of model deployment and solutions using cloud services (preferably Azure DevOps or AzureML).
• The ability to understand customer needs and solve real-world problems.
• A background in algorithm development (SQL, Python, Git, DevOps) and familiarity with agile methods is a must.
• An active interest in current AI developments with best practices.
• Fluent English on a C1 level is required.

On the Person Itself:

• We look for someone who is located in or near Barcelona.
• The person should be willing to go to the office once a week.
• Some traveling will be required in order to meet the entire team once or twice a year.
• The person should be very interested in new technology and willing to learn.
• Experience with vector databases is a must-have since this will be the major task for the first year.
