Data Protection Manager - Compliance (Openbank)

Mission and responsibilities:
As a Data Protection Manager, you will provide data protection support to different products and services of the entity, reporting to the Data Protection Officer. This role requires knowledge of data protection in financial services and the implementation of regulations in different geographies of the European Union.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide practical guidance and advice internally on Data Protection matters while working as part of the data privacy team under the guidance of Openbank's Data Protection Officer.
- Participate in all processes that deal with the processing of personal data and provide relevant consultations.
- Advise and support business functions on data protection issues arising day-to-day.
- Ensure compliance with international, national, state, and local privacy laws and regulations.
- Create and implement strategies to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
- Perform DPIAs, PIAs and LI assessments and build/maintain the client’s RoPA.
- Analyze risk associated with data processing operations and monitor compliance with GDPR and other personal data legal requirements.
- Maintain processes for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures.
To be successful in the role you must have:
- + years of relevant legal/compliance experience, including at a law firm or prior in-house experience.
- University or Master’s Degree in law.
- Completing a master's degree in technology and/or data protection will be a plus.
- Advanced English (C).
- Desirable knowledge of other languages such as German/Dutch/Portuguese.
- Certification as DPO/IAPP or similar.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, reading/comprehension, writing skills, and strong attention to detail.
