Associate / Senior Associate - Credit Analyst – High-Yield Loans - Asset Management
Overview :
We are hiring on behalf of a top-tier asset management firm seeking an Associate-level Credit Analyst to join their Madrid-based team. This role focuses on analyzing companies and assessing High-Yield (HY) Loans within an institutional client portfolio, providing an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced investment environment.
About the Role :
As an Associate Credit Analyst, you will conduct fundamental credit analysis, monitor portfolio performance, and contribute to investment decisions related to HY loans. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in credit analysis, investment banking, or credit rating agencies, with a strong understanding of leveraged finance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Company Analysis : Perform in-depth analysis of corporate financial statements, industry trends, and key credit metrics to assess risk and return potential.
- Credit Assessment : Evaluate HY loan structures, including covenant analysis, debt repayment capacity, and risk factors.
- Portfolio Monitoring : Track the performance of assigned loan portfolios, identifying early warning signals and recommending proactive strategies.
- Investment Insights : Support investment decisions by providing well-researched recommendations to senior analysts and portfolio managers.
- Market Research : Stay up to date on macroeconomic trends, sector-specific developments, and regulatory changes affecting leveraged finance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with portfolio managers, risk teams, and external counterparties to ensure informed credit decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. CFA designation or progress toward it is a plus.
- Experience : 2-6 years in credit analysis, leveraged finance, investment banking, or a credit rating agency.
- Technical Skills : Strong financial modeling and credit risk assessment capabilities.
- Knowledge Base : Solid understanding of HY loans, corporate financial structures, and covenant frameworks.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving : Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is required, and Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills : Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
