Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant

Our client, a leading international company in the industrial sector operating throughout Europe, is currently looking for a Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant in Barcelona. In this key role, you will be the focal point for finance & accounting activities in the country.

Your responsibilities :

1. Lead Month-End Close (MEC) activities and the preparation & submission of local Spanish statements.
2. Ensure and manage the relationships with outsource Tax service providers.
3. Manage the annual closing process and financial audit.
4. Supervise a small accounting team.
5. Reconcile General Ledger (GL), subsidiary ledger, and intercompany settlements to ensure accurate financial records & compliance.
6. Continuously identify process improvements and implement best practices (including automation solutions and new tools / systems to enhance efficiency of external reporting).

Your profile :

1. Deep technical accounting knowledge of Spanish GAAP.
2. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or Independent Accountant.
3. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
4. Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
5. Fluent English is a must.
6. Experience with MS Excel and MS Dynamics is an advantage.
