Head of Homologation and Safety – EV & Category L Vehicles

Are you a regulatory expert with experience in Electric Vehicles or Category L vehicles? We’re looking for a skilled professional to lead homologation and safety compliance, ensuring our innovative vehicles meet international standards. This is a leadership role where you’ll oversee certification processes, manage compliance, and help shape the future of sustainable transport.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Manage homologation and certification processes across global markets (EU, USA, Canada, Australia, etc.).
2. Ensure compliance with UNECE, ISO, and other international automotive safety regulations.
3. Work closely with certification bodies and regulatory authorities to secure approvals.
4. Monitor evolving regulations and implement compliance strategies to stay ahead of industry changes.
5. Oversee safety validation, testing, and vehicle certification processes.
6. Manage regulatory documentation, including ITV and COC cards, and handle vehicle recalls if necessary.
7. Collaborate with R&D, legal, and sales teams to streamline approval workflows.
8. Represent the company in industry discussions on safety and compliance standards.

What You’ll Need :

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
2. 5+ years of experience in homologation, safety, or regulatory compliance within the EV or Category L vehicle sector.
3. Strong leadership and project management skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of UNECE, ISO 26262, AECQ, and other global automotive regulations.
5. Experience in validation, crash testing, and certification approvals.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
7. Fluency in English.

Nice to Have :

1. Background in homologation and safety for motorcycles, scooters, or other Category L vehicles.
2. Understanding of automotive cybersecurity compliance (ISO / SAE 21434).
3. Experience with PLM tools and risk assessment methodologies (FMEA, FTA, DFA, etc.).
