Business Intelligence Engineer

Business Intelligence Engineer – IT – long term contract – Valencia or Remote

Our client, an international IT service provider, is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join them as a contractor, with the option to work fully remote or onsite in Valencia, Spain. Starting with an initial 6-month contract, multiple extensions are expected and there is great, long-term potential. The average stay for a contractor at this client is +3 years.

Interviews will take place in November and December for a January 2025 start.

Business Intelligence Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Data cleaning and processing and Data warehousing solutions
2. Supervise and develop extraction, transformation and load (ETL) processes
3. Data modelling and Data mining
4. Storytelling and visualization
5. Running proof of concepts and investigating opportunities for the use of innovative solutions to help define the strategic direction and platforms
6. Assisting to define the data engineering strategy, solutions and roadmaps, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance goals
7. Development of data consumption and data storage platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, SQL, NoSQL, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Hadoop, Oracle, Teradata etc.)
8. Development of data manipulation services using BI best practices (e.g. machine learning, stored procedures, USQL, TSQL, ETL, scripting (Python or R) etc.)
9. Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
10. Creating reports and dashboards using leading edge visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
11. Working with the team to produce end-to-end solutions for new and existing projects

About you:

1. 5+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Management, Information Systems and other related fields is required
2. 2+ years of experience with BI tools as Power BI, Qlik or Tableau
3. 3+ years of experience with data integration, cleansing, ETL related areas
4. 3+ years of experience with Reporting tools as Reporting Services, Business Object or Cognos
5. 3+ years of strong experience writing Programs using PL/SQL and queries using SQL
