Business Development Manager / KAM - Automotive Industrial Projects
We are a Spanish company, now part of a multinational industrial group, leader in the development and management of engineering projects and turnkey execution in the industrial field.
We are present in 10 countries in Europe, Latin America and next in North America, focusing on high potential segments such as Automotive giga-factories, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology critical installations, and microelectronics plants.
As part of our international expansion journey, with sustained growth of 20% per year, we are looking to strengthen our management team with a new role as Business Development Manager/Director for the Large Project Business Unit.
Reporting to the Director of the Business Unit and working closely with the Commercial Director, the Development Manager/Director will be responsible for the commercial management of new opportunities for large projects at the European level.
Responsibilities include:
- Positioning the company in an international commercial environment through sales and marketing activities, detecting commercial opportunities and new related projects for batteries, automotive, pharma, and microelectronics factories.
- Identifying and qualifying customer needs, providing customized technical solutions, and defining budgets.
- Setting up the supply chain and strengthening relationships with stakeholders: engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Collaborating with engineering/study teams of the BU and with the sales teams of our affiliates to prepare and submit bids.
- Managing sales with the commercial team and leading contract negotiations with customers during the project launch phase.
- Transferring information on the progress of new project opportunities to the operations, projects, and finance areas.
- Participating in sector meetings, fairs, and conferences.
This is a challenge with international exposure and potential evolution of responsibilities towards the Management Committee, in the context of a relevant international group in full expansion process.
Professional Requirements:
- Educational background in Engineering; an MBA is valuable.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in key account management and/or business development roles for project sales with engineering value, linked to Automotive or other Industrial sectors.
- A good command of English is essential; other languages are appreciated.
- Interpersonal skills and high interlocution, excellent sales and negotiation skills, customer-oriented, and a team player.
- Proactivity and adaptability of solutions to customer needs, from solution creation to quotation approach.
- Availability for short international trips.
