Offer Description
Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President to create a pre-shortlist of candidates in order to cover an open-ended contractual position as an assistant researcher to collaborate with the funded line of research “Big Data, Data Space, Artificial Intelligence and Health”. Reference: I-PI 143-24.
Project TSI-(phone hidden)-10 funded by the Spanish Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Function and by the European Union-Next GenerationEU/PRTR.
Pursuant to the provisions of the regulations governing calls for applications of research staff to cover contractual research positions, approved by the Governing Council of 29 June 2021 (BOUA of 30 June 2021), the University of Alicante calls for applications to cover a job position in accordance with the following terms and conditions:
First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy
- Number of job vacancies: one.
- Job position: assistant researcher.
- Funded line of research: “Big Data, Data Space, Artificial Intelligence and Health”.
- Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in morning/afternoon sessions.
- Remuneration: €1,347.86 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).
In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, it is hereby stated that there is no under-representation of either gender in the category of assistant researcher.
Second. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate
- Name of the project: “European mobility for efficient planning and new business opportunities”.
- Funding agency: Spanish Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Function.
- Co-funding agency: European Union-Next GenerationEU/PRTR.
- Dept. / Institute: University Institute for Computer Research.
- Tasks to be carried out:
Creating attractive and intuitive visualisations that represent mobility patterns in an understandable and engaging manner. This includes designing interactive maps, infographics and graphic elements for easier understanding of complex data. Moreover, the successful applicant will be required to apply gamification principles to make the tools and presentations more interactive and attractive, encouraging user participation through gaming elements, such as reward systems or simulations, so that mobility scenarios can be explored in a dynamic and educational way.
Third. Job profile
Preference will be given to those with:
- Experience and training related to the tasks listed in the second section of this call and to:
- Video game development: Unity
- Adobe graphic design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Acrobat, Premiere Pro and InDesign
- 3D design tools: Blender and Cinema 4D
- Web development technologies: React, HTML5, CSS and WordPress
- Social media management: LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
- Web design and content management tools: WordPress
- English language
- Knowledge of Catalan
- Qualification:
- Advanced degree in Design (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6).
- Official Master's degree in Art and Design or in Video Game Design and Development (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7).
Fourth. Requirements for applicants
Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering into the contract. Applicants must:
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree (including engineering and architecture studies) of at least 300 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), or an undergraduate degree (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6) plus an official Master's degree (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7).
- Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, which approves the revised text of the Act on the Basic Statute of Public Employees (BOE of 31 October). In the case established in point 4 of this article, when entering into the employment contract, the successful applicant must be a legal resident in Spain.
- Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
- Possess the physical and mental capacities and aptitudes that are necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks, for which, prior to the signing of the contract, a medical certificate must be provided certifying the possession of said capacities and aptitudes. For these purposes, medical examinations may be carried out through the medical assistance provided by the University of Alicante Occupational Health Service.
- Not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations or of the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Spanish Autonomous Regions, nor have been totally or specially disqualified for public employment by a court decision.
