What you will contribute:
This position offers a chance to join a small but energetic Commercial Legal team involved in a variety of projects. You will interact with people from all over the world, draft, review, and negotiate contracts, review marketing materials, and provide support on ongoing legal matters.
Your tasks:
- Supports the Legal Department by assisting in the provision of general commercial legal advice to a growing enterprise, operating in multiple jurisdictions.
- Assists in the negotiation, drafting and amendment of agreements for potential agents in the territory in conjunction with the relevant business teams.
- Assists in the review and negotiation of other contractual arrangements of the group.
- Advises the business on legal matters, in conjunction with local counsel, in relation to the provision of MoneyGram services in each of its applicable jurisdictions.
- Obtains advice, performs research and drafts memoranda on legal aspects of the roll-out of new products and the development of new distribution channels. Instructs and manages outside counsel in numerous jurisdictions as directed by the Legal Counsel and/or Vice President General Counsel.
- Collaborates closely with the Compliance department in ensuring the provision of MoneyGram services is made in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering requirements in the relevant jurisdictions.
- Assists with the management on litigation processes and liaisons with outside counsel, as required.
- Supports the legal review of proposed advertisements and marketing materials (print, radio, TV) to ensure compliance with local laws and Company advertising guidelines.
- Assists in the development of internal procedures and best practice and compilation of precedents and know-how.
- Addresses any other general or ad-hoc legal queries/projects from internal business stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
Education:
- Legal qualifications as a legal counsel/attorney or in professional training.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience as an in-house lawyer or with a law firm.
Essential skills:
- Proven ability to independently review and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Full professional proficiency in English, including legal terminology.
- Proficiency in additional languages (especially Russian, Spanish, or Portuguese) is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- A practical, business-oriented approach to legal issues.
