We are currently looking for an Insurance Collections Specialist to join our Operations Team in Barcelona, Spain.

Position Overview

Under direct supervision of the Operations Manager, he/she will ensure that the company receives payments and records them accordingly, as well as solving any discrepancies. The role covers all aspects of operations activity including accounts management, chasing payments and reporting.

Essential Job Functions

1. Reconciliation:
2. Manage the reconciliation of ANV’s bank accounts, including premiums receivable, claims payable, and reinsurance recoverable.
3. Maintain accurate records of premiums and claims daily logs.
4. Supervise the ongoing maintenance of bank accounts.
5. Actively chase brokers and co-insurance companies to collect outstanding premiums, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of funds.
6. Process “Cancellation Notices” for unpaid premium.
7. Coordination with Auditors:
8. Liaise with external auditors during financial audits to provide the relevant documentation and explain the insurance accounting practices if required.
9. Analyse financial statements received by brokers or co-insurance companies.
10. Create reports for overdue policies and open remittance balances.
11. Assist the claims team with queries related to payments.
12. Supervise claims payment and reimbursement processing.
13. Interpret complex financial data to look into discrepancies between calculated premiums and instructions received from the client.
14. Provide support to other members of the operations team when required.
15. Work together with AmTrust MGA’s finance department.

Qualifications, Experience, Competence

Qualifications:

• Accounting related degree or professional qualification is desirable / not essential.

Experience:

• Experience in working on a daily basis with Excel.
• Insurance industry experience is desirable / not essential.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to work.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Prioritization and organizational skills.
