Job description

AIP Management
AIP is a Nordic investment firm focused on infrastructure investments that facilitate the energy transition in Europe and North America. Our team comprises over 90 professionals with extensive expertise in investments and energy, strategically located in Copenhagen, London, Madrid, and New York.

Since 2012, AIP has invested over EUR 7 billion in energy transition assets across Europe and the US. This includes renewable energy generation assets with a capacity of approximately 7 GW. Once fully operational, AIP’s investments will contribute to avoiding 10 million tons of greenhouse gasses and support about 5.9 million households with renewable electricity.

AIP is currently investing out of AIP II, a EUR 4 billion fund. The intention is to commence the fundraising for AIP III towards the end of the year on the back of strong support from the existing investors.

A new Head of Investor Relations and Partner, Amanda Tonsgaard, recently joined to lead the investor relations, capital raising, and communications activities. As a result of AIP’s ambitions to grow further, AIP wishes to expand its fundraising capabilities and recruit a fundraising specialist who can focus on raising capital from new LPs and be part of the Investor Relations team.

The Role
This role is offering a unique opportunity to be part of building an IR function and a presence in the market, leveraging AIP’s longstanding track record and strong platform. The candidate will focus on raising capital from new LPs and building AIP’s market position in new markets with a focus on Europe but also segmenting and covering other regions selectively. You will be working closely with Amanda who is based in London, and the rest of the Investor Relations team, which is based in Copenhagen and focuses on client relations and project management.

Key Responsibilities, experience, and capabilities

  • Demonstrable success in raising capital from institutional LPs with a focus on identifying, engaging, and maintaining relationships with new institutions and investment consultants;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the infrastructure sector and the nascent themes developing within renewables and energy;
  • A robust and current set of relationships across consultants and LPs who invest in infrastructure and the ability to strategically tier and target their prospecting efforts, with a focused approach to effectively close commitments;
  • Best in class investor servicing capabilities;
  • Ability to manage large workloads under time-sensitive circumstances and be open to travel frequently.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience from investor relations in an infrastructure/real assets focused fund, private capital advisory team in an investment bank or placement agent;
  • The capability of articulating and selling investment strategies in solutions-oriented discussions with prospective investors;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, professionalism, and product knowledge, with the ability to work independently but collaboratively within the team;
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and organised with the ability to strategically build AIP’s brand and presence in AIP’s core markets;
  • High level of ethics and integrity and ability to champion AIP’s values and culture;
  • Strong academic background;
  • Fluent in English. Any additional languages are a plus.

A career with AIP is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation that aims to create superior risk-adjusted returns that can drive the energy transition forward. With our Nordic roots, we embrace a flat and informal organisational structure, fostering open communication, collaborative decision-making, and a culture of equality.

We offer a competitive compensation package and good working conditions in a modern and dynamic workplace.
