Cobol Software Engineer (Senior) - New Archive Platform

We are looking for a Senior Cobol Developer for our team – New Archive Platform. We are a part of the Core Banking Domain, which in turn is a part of the Engineering Platforms division. We develop products and concepts for Core banking. We are in the process of moving our existing archive platform towards a new SaaS and need your help with this in both conversion of data, changing the current integrations and cleaning up data. As a Mainframe Developer, you will play a key role in building our Business Solutions. You will be a part of a dynamic team of four Business Analysts, one QAC, ten Software Developers, and three Team Architects.

Your Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and complex IT solutions that fulfill the requirements of our customers.
  2. Design the architecture of a solution and drive the development.
  3. Engage directly with customers to develop a better understanding of their needs.
  4. Utilize Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, to ensure an iterative and adaptive approach to development.
  5. Prepare technical and procedural documentation associated with IT development.
  6. Collaborate with the Product Owner and other teams across the organization to ensure the best possible solutions for incoming business requirements.
  7. Master execution of changes in the current system (DB2).

To Succeed You Will Have

  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience in Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL, SQL, IDz/RDz, Erwin, and a positive approach towards Unit testing.
  • High level of English proficiency, both in writing and orally, to work in teams in Denmark and Poland.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Git/BitBucket, JIRA, API, Java, Kafka.
  • Experience working in the financial sector.
  • Problem Management skills, including conducting various analyses such as root cause or Pareto analysis to find the source of a problem.
