We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering to lead our global manufacturing operations for our Product Line Seatbelt. This role encompasses the optimization of global manufacturing operations, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring exceptional value delivery. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives related to production footprint optimization, advanced automation implementation, and the establishment of robust manufacturing standards, while leveraging global resources to enhance production processes.
Industrial set-up:
- Take responsibility for the industrial setup to support best product cost and efficient value delivery in the following dimensions:
- Production footprint: optimize global production footprint to maximize efficiency, drive best product cost and efficient value delivery.
- Production Processes: Develop and implement state-of-the-art production processes for operational excellence using world class automation.
- Manufacturing Standards (MPS): Establish and maintain robust manufacturing standards.
Global Process Development:
- Leverage global resources to develop and refine production processes, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Own and drive the global automation roadmap, identifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the global development and implementation of new process equipment, collaborating with GPMDs to meet strategic and financial targets.
- Serve as the primary global interface within PLS-Manufacturing (PLS-M) for product development process activities.
- Lead the global PLS-M Steering Board for GPP Innovation projects, defining project scope and monitoring progress.
- Represent PLS-M in Product Development Pre-Tollgate reviews and PCC meetings.
- Drive PLS-M participation in ALV Q-improvement initiatives.
- Supervise the manufacturing equipment approval committee for AS100 Capex.
- Provide strategic support for footprint decisions, SWAT team activities, and operational excellence initiatives.
Resource and Financial Management:
- Manage budget, resource allocation, and capacity planning, including employee salary definition.
- Define, delegate, and monitor KPIs and targets, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and policies.
- Ensure strict adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, including working time, safety, and data compliance.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in global process equipment development and implementation.
- Proven ability to optimize production footprints and implement advanced automation strategies.
- Strong understanding of KPI and target management methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and intercultural competence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree, MBA or similar education in Industrial Engineering.
- Experienced background within the automotive sector (OEM or first tier suppliers).
- Proven history of driving operational excellence and quality improvements.
- Experience in Costing (product and process).
- High analytical skills.
- Ability to influence at all hierarchy levels.
