Youth Worker - Positive Youth Development & Wellness Coordinator – Langley, BC
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? Do you thrive in dynamic, energetic environments where mentorship, movement, and creativity go hand-in-hand? Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres (walc.ca), accredited by the BC Ministry of Education, is looking for a dedicated and adaptable Youth Development Worker to join our Langley campus.
This is your chance to be part of a supportive, close-knit team helping students grow, thrive, and discover their potential in a unique educational setting.
Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres are the only BC Independent Schools that are also dual-accredited as therapeutic Positive Youth Development Programs by CARF, the same organization that accredits BC hospitals.
At Whytecliff, we work with approximately 55 remarkable students in grades 8–12, all of whom have IEPs and many of whom experience social, emotional, or learning challenges—including anxiety, ADHD, ASD, and other diverse needs. This year, many of our learners bring high energy and a strong need for physical movement and structured engagement throughout the day.
We offer a whole-person approach that integrates academics with social-emotional development, outdoor education, and wellness. Across the street from our school is a fully equipped gym facility that we use regularly for structured physical activity, team challenges, and health-focused programming. Physical movement, wellness, and experiential learning are all key elements of our program.
We’re seeking an energetic, grounded, and adaptable individual who can lead from the front—whether it’s coordinating a gym session, organizing a team-building game, or offering calm, steady mentorship to a young person in need of guidance.
You might have a background in youth leadership, recreation, sports coaching, camp programming, or active outdoor education—and you’re ready to bring those skills into a unique school environment that blends personal growth with positive challenge.
Experience in coaching, camp leadership, outdoor rec, or running group fitness or wellness initiatives is highly valued.
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred), ideally in a relevant field such as education, kinesiology, psychology, social work, youth leadership, recreation, or a related area.
This hybrid role blends youth mentorship, program coordination, and active leadership in a student-centered environment. You’ll support students in both structured and spontaneous ways—fostering positive peer relationships, planning hands-on activities, and helping students tap into their strengths, energy, and sense of belonging.
Class 5 required, Class 4 preferred (driving is a key aspect of the role for pickups, drop-offs, and field trips).
Expected Start Date: August 18 (or earlier for the right candidate)
Location: In-person, Langley, BC
