The Edmonton Police Service requires an individual with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail to assume the following responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting NicheUA, CPIC, JOIN, BWI, PIP, ACIIS, and NCIC checks to process enhanced security checks for all areas of the EPS including Human Resources, Facilities Management Branch, Volunteers, I.T., Victim Services Unit, Zebra Centre and others.
- Processing each applicant and all listed family members, in-laws, roommates on NicheUA, CPIC, JOIN, BWI, PIP, and ACIIS. (NCIC when applicable).
- Completing analysis and research on each enhanced security clearance.
- Providing information and direction on enhanced security clearance.
- Retrieving and sending CPIC messages.
- Corresponding with external policing agencies and partners to recover intelligence.
- Compiling and reviewing intelligence for reporting.
- Composing correspondence to government and private agencies, typing memos, reports and other documents required to complete enhanced security clearances.
- Maintaining various databases using Excel.
- Performing general office duties, including collecting and distributing mail, maintaining the filing system and photocopying/scanning.
- Proven customer service.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing and training in microcomputer applications or completion of an approved certificate program.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and diversified word and/or information processing experience.
- Experience working with the general public.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Experience in NicheUA, CPIC, BWI, PIP, ACIIS, JOIN and IAPro.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code, Criminal Records Act, and Provincial Legislation related to court proceedings and FOIPP would be an asset.
- Applicants may be tested.
- As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week. 8 hours per day between 0730-1600 hours, Monday through Friday.
Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 013, $27.069 - $33.943 (Hourly), $2,165.50 - $2,715.40 (Bi-Weekly), $56,520.07 - $70,872.98 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
