Position Summary

Acuren Wind CA is expanding its operations and is actively seeking a Wind Assets and Rope Access Equipment Supervisor to join and support their team in Goderich, ON.

The Wind Assets and Rope Access Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and deployment of assets and equipment used in rope access and wind turbine blade repair operations. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, operational efficiency, and the readiness of equipment to support ongoing projects. The position will also supervise inventory, coordinate repairs, and support the technical team in achieving operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing processes and procedures to support operations with capital efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Maximizing utilization of existing equipment and fleet vehicles by directing equipment to the most cost-effective or profitable areas of the business.
  • Oversee daily activities and performance of Tool Crib, providing guidance and support for efficient distribution of assets.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all rope access equipment, including ropes, harnesses, helmets, carabiners, descenders, and ascenders.
  • Ensure that all equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance and repairs to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards in all aspects of equipment management.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance, and compliance checks.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Implement corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings.
  • Ensure all team members are aware of and adhere to safety practices related to equipment.
  • Assess and identify the need for new or additional equipment based on project requirements and inventory levels.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of prior experience in managing fleet vehicles, equipment and/or logistics in a related field, demonstrating capability in inventory management, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prior experience with rope access equipment and Petzl PPE Inspection certification is considered an asset.
  • Able to quickly identify issues with equipment and make informed decisions to resolve them.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining high safety standards in all aspects of work. Consistently demonstrates their understanding of, and compliance with, responsibility under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Acuren Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures.
  • Anticipates needs and potential issues before they arise, ensuring continuous operation.
  • Can lead by example, particularly in safety practices and training.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Physically able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
