Description:
Wildfire crew members are expected to participate and excel by suppressing fires using methods such as digging hand guard, using water delivery systems, operating power saws and various other practices. Working as a part of an organized crew within a definite command structure, wildfire employees work long hours in stressful or potentially dangerous situations and are expected to be able to work for extended periods with little time off. While not on fire-related assignments, crews will work on base, cleaning and maintaining gear and facilities as well as be utilized for project work such as silviculture work, trail building, tree planting, brushing, as well as participate in scheduled physical training and testing, training, and community-based work. As a responding unit, firefighters are expected to be available for assignment while on standby and shall be expected to respond within an assigned timeframe.
Firefighters need to be in excellent physical condition and exhibit a high energy work ethic. They need to be able to take direction, work cooperatively within diverse teams, work groups, and across the organization to achieve group and organizational goals. They must be able to work long days under extreme conditions, be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibility, assignments, and organizational structures. Dedication to workplace and fireline safety is critical.

Education:
Preferred: High School Diploma or better in Adult Education.
Experience:
Required: Able to pass the WFX fit test, 20 plus fireline days.

Preferred: Strike Team Lead, ROC-Aeronautical, Mark III Pump, S290, S275, S270, S241, S235, S232, S230, S170, S130, S115, S100A, DTA - Wildland Fire, ICS 200, Class 5 Driver's Licence, OH&S, Transport Endorsement, Power Saw Operator, OFA 3/Advanced FA.
