We have an immediate, full-time permanent position for a Water Resources Scientist with 3-5 years experience, including field experience in our Prince George office. As a Water Resources Scientist, you will join our interdisciplinary team of water resources scientists and environmental professionals. You have a passion for water resources, are technically skilled in implementing and managing field programs, and apply your expertise to practical solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Fieldwork associated with surface water quality, hydrology, groundwater and meteorological data collection;
- Support data management as needed, including management of field data, quality assurance and quality control;
- Data analysis including, but not limited to, time series and trend analyses;
- Reporting tasks including data presentation, technical reviews and interpretation.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities and ability to make timely decisions;
- Demonstrated experience in fieldwork in Water Resources, which may include hydrology, water quality, groundwater, and hydrometeorology;
- Proven record of crew lead experience related to water resources or environmental science;
- Ability to manage field documentation, analyze data and reporting experience;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and exceptional time management skills;
- Willingness to foster a professional, productive, and growth-minded work environment;
- Able to simultaneously organize and manage tight timelines and multiple priorities;
- Able to travel for fieldwork in remote locations and/or between our offices.
Job requirements include:
- A passion for your career, and willingness to be part of a dynamic team;
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, water engineering or related discipline(s). A technical diploma with equivalent experience will also be considered;
- Registration or eligibility for professional registration (e.g. P.Ag., PGeo, PEng or other relevant professional designation to act as a Qualified Professional);
- 3-5 years water resources or applicable environmental science experience, including field experience;
- Experience with stream flow measurements, datalogger and meteorology station maintenance and installation of hydrometric stations are considered an asset;
- Experience with R/R-studio and/or Aquarius TimeSeries software is considered an asset;
- Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program;
- Class 5 driver’s license.

The typical compensation range for this position is from $52,000 – $87,000 annually; the compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
