Position Overview Reporting to the Production Manager, the Water / Flood Technician supports emergency response and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of the insurance companies and our customers are being met. The Water / Flood Technician is capable of implementing water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRCS-500 Standard.
Job Duties
Work on job sites providing the following services:
Water pumping and extraction
Mold remediation
Moving & re-setting contents
Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process
Debris disposal
Setting drying equipment
Carpet cleaning
Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity and MC moisture content readings
Participate as directed in the following activities:
Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
Ensure vehicle is cleaned and restocked at end of shift
Constructing polyethylene enclosures
Maintaining equipment
Practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
Provide excellent customer service
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices; follow all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
Comply with all Belfor policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager
Attend all Belfor sponsored training courses
Qualifications
IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required
IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset
2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred
Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets
Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor’s vehicle policy
Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience
Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
Periodic travel may be required
