WE’RE LOOKING FOR A WAREHOUSE WORKER-DRIVER
Location: FORT ERIE, ON/NIAGARA FALLS, ON
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Worker-Driver will report to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for safely operating the company vehicle to ensure the safe transportation of goods and materials between both the Fort Erie and Niagara Falls locations, as well as local vendors.
Additionally, the Warehouse Worker-Driver will also support day-to-day warehouse operations in accordance with AS9100 QMS, TCCA, and Airbus requirements, when there are no driving requirements. These responsibilities include: receiving, stowing, order picking, packaging and shipping of aircraft components, and other related materials. The Warehouse Worker-Driver is also required to use various powered/non-powered materials handling equipment.
The Warehouse Worker will also be required to perform “on call duties” on a rotation schedule, to support after hours business and AOG support requirements.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Driver:
- Drive the company vehicle to transport materials between sites, and also to/from local suppliers and vendors as required.
- Manage the loading and unloading of the vehicle using powered and non-powered equipment to ensure the safe and secure transportation of products.
- Preparation and completion of Bill of Lading (BOL’s) to ensure load contents are captured.
- Adhere to established delivery schedule and communicate with both Warehouse and Logistics personnel to optimize and define priorities.
- Comply with all traffic laws and regulations. Practice defensive driving and maintain a good driving record, report any vehicle damage or infraction.
- Determine that the company vehicle is in an operative condition by completing inspection/logs. Maintain a clean vehicle and operate the vehicle in a safe manner daily.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the company vehicle immediately.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
Order Picking:
- Locate and pick parts or material from identified storage locations specified on TO, ensuring FIFO.
- Put incoming parts and materials in designated storage locations, maintaining accuracy with system data.
- Use SAP ERP system and RF scanner to support picking and resolving any discrepancies.
- Conduct cycle count/Inventory count on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure orders are packaged appropriately for delivery and supplied with traceability documentation.
Receiving:
- Receive deliveries from suppliers making sure to inspect each package to ensure the correct number of packages and their condition. Confirm shipment belongs to AHCA.
- Open the packages and remove parts and paperwork to ensure they have part number, value, expiry date, and serial number and validate all certifications and documentation prior to receiving into SAP as per procedure.
- Load and unload trucks as required.
Shipping:
- Ship parts to customers, create manual or digital waybills, contact and instruct freight and courier companies via phone or online platforms.
- Manage shipping dock, load and/or unload trucks and shipping containers ensuring full traceability through tracking details, and record information in SAP.
Position Requirements:
Driving License:
- Valid Class G Ontario driving license with driving abstract.
Education:
- High School Diploma
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Operations - Materials/Inventory Management or related discipline would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 pack
- Experience with SAP considered an asset
- Experience with Google Suite.
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication (written and oral) and organizational skills
- Ability to work and think independently and under general supervision
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines – sense of urgency and customer satisfaction
- Ability to lift and bend repetitively
- Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, paperwork and all other aspects of the position
- Warehouse experience picking/packing/receiving of orders/shipments considered an asset
- Knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and AS9100 environment is an asset.
