Description

The role of a warehouse worker is to assist in the efficient and effective reclamation, processing or distribution of warehouse goods.

Hours
  • Casual / On-call, no guarantee
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:
  • Processes raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading and bailing the donations; protects the integrity of the donations.
  • Selects donations or store distribution meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards.
  • Meets assigned daily targets; counts, weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations.
  • Complies with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Note: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.

Education/Certifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR is considered an asset.
  • Steel toed footwear is required.
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Ability to sustain a daily routine of heavy lifting, reaching and bending.
  • Willingness to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment.
  • Willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures.
  • Willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness.
  • An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada.
