Job description

With this focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility, our client, located in Lachine, is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to supervise and manage the daily operations related to recycling and waste management. As a team leader, you will be responsible for coordinating warehouse activities, managing your team, and optimizing the processes of sorting, storing, and processing recyclable materials. You must ensure that all operations comply with environmental and safety standards, while guaranteeing a safe and efficient work environment. Tasks

  • Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the warehouse, ensuring that the collection, sorting, and storage of recyclable materials are carried out efficiently.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of logistics processes, including receiving, storing, and distributing recycled materials.
  • Managing a team of workers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Resolving daily issues related to personnel and operations management.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of recyclable materials and supplies necessary for the smooth operation of the warehouse.
  • Ensuring that recycled materials meet quality standards and are properly sorted and stored according to different categories (paper, plastic, metals, etc.).
  • Collaborating with carriers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth management of deliveries and shipments of recycled materials.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of warehouse operations by proposing and implementing solutions to optimize sorting, storage, and recycling processes.
  • Conducting regular inventories and ensuring the proper rotation of stock.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and health and safety regulations.
  • Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a team leader in a warehouse or a similar role.
  • Ability to demonstrate high emotional intelligence to foster an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (50% of the time) to communicate with English-speaking clients.
  • SIMDUT training is an asset.
  • First aid certification is an asset.
