What’s the job?
Reporting to the Insulation Service Manager, is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the activities of the assigned shipping, receiving, warehousing, and/or yard operations, in a manner that ensures maximum efficiency within cost and safety standards.
- Enforces SG Safety Standards, and local policies/procedures to provide a safe working environment. Must recognize unsafe conditions and behaviors and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.
- Assures good housekeeping practices are understood, implemented, and followed.
- Enforces that shipping procedures are followed by the shipping department personnel as well as outside contractors. Oversees the development of documented standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or packaging materials or products.
- Inspects the physical condition of the warehouse, vehicle fleet, and equipment to ensure good working order and standards are maintained.
- Creates work requisitions when required.
- Addresses personnel issues as needed to ensure harmony amongst workers.
- Trains all warehouse personnel in the safe and efficient performance of their duties. Strives to create a cross-trained department.
- Oversees the work schedule to ensure proper coverage for the warehouse. Manages vacations, call outs, and other possible work disruptions.
- Follows plant guidelines to develop the warehouse team and promote a strong work environment. Works with teams to implement visual standards and audits team to ensure standards are maintained.
- Responsible to deliver continuous improvement with regard to the customer service index, with the vision of >95% level by utilizing CTG continuous improvement tools.
- Works closely with Shift leaders to ensure high level of SRA (Stock Record Accuracy) >98%.
- Works with production and quality to ensure board is up to standards.
- Works with planning to ensure customer demand is met.

What do you bring?
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience which will provide a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices and procedures concerned with distribution activities.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics / warehouse / shipping and/or customer service related activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Strong computer skills; including Excel and Word.
- PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SAP systems knowledge (Strongly Preferred).
- 1 to 2 years of management/supervisory experience.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA safety regulations.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Experience using continuous improvement tools.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (Strongly Preferred).
- Gypsum wallboard manufacturing experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervises hourly workers associated with warehousing activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Manufacturing Plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, stairs and ladders. Exposure to industrial noise, dust and heat. Some travel required. Minimum of 40 hours per week, additional hours determined by work flow and project demand.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires wearing personal protection equipment as mandated in areas accessed. Physical demands are walking and climbing, entering confined spaces, and heights. May need to navigate steps and rough terrain at some plant locations. Travel would involve ability to fly on commercial airplanes and drive to remote locations.

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $61,600 to $95,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $67,144 to $104,095.
