What You’ll Do
The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager. The incumbent will be a member of the Operations Team and will collaborate with numerous individuals and teams such as sales, manufacturing & supply chain, in order to achieve the branch business goals. The Warehouse Supervisor will drive a culture of safety and accountability based on corporate metrics. This position will also be responsible to promote and encourage team growth and engagement.
Location: The role is based out of our Halton Hills, ON warehouse location.
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 5:30 am to 2 pm
Responsibilities
- Strategic/Innovation
- Identify, analyze and adopt appropriate industry best practices in warehousing, logistics and operations.
- Collaborate with Sales to execute new product introductions.
- Collaborate with regional operational colleagues to create, measure, and improve operational KPI’s.
- Maximize efficiencies in the production and planning of the department.
- Financial Results
- Review operations expenses vs. budget on a monthly basis. Identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
- Participate in branch and regional Lean Kaizen projects, share best practices, implement SOP’s and track savings on a monthly basis.
- Maximize order picking productivity and pre-hung output per man hour to reflect sales and customer needs.
- Customer Focus
- Collaborate with Sales to understand who our highly-valued strategic customer relationships are with, in the branch and region.
- Develop an understanding of our customers’ needs to align them with the operational requirements of the company.
- Work to improve on branches balanced scorecard metrics on a monthly basis (e.g. “In Full, On Time, In Spec” – IFOTIS, etc.).
- Measure, communicate and strategize improvements to supplier performance with key regional suppliers. Maintain strong key supplier relationships.
- Employee Development
- Mentor and develop competencies in the team that lead to improved performance in their current role and their potential preparation for future roles.
- Strive to eliminate “silos” between different sectors/business units within the company.
- Create and maintain a safe, fun workplace for all employees.

- Safety
- Lead the safety culture within the warehouse in all actions and instructions.
- Conduct or oversee the execution of training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence, including record keeping.
- Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience in a distribution warehouse environment.
- Track record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Track record of successfully collaborating with customers & other team members.
- Strong knowledge of the residential construction industry.
- Experience collaborating with various areas within an organization.
- Lean experience and credentials would be preferred (e.g., Yellow belt).
- Must demonstrate flexibility during seasonal sales spikes (spring/fall).
