DMC is currently looking for an Warehouse Lead in Sudbury, ON. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for conducting and overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring that products are received, stored, and staged efficiently and accurately. This role involves coordinating with other departments and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving Goods:
    • Unload incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders.
    • Inspect items for damage or defects and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
    • Properly label and store received items in designated areas.
  2. Order Fulfillment:
    • Pick and pack products accurately based on internal requests.
    • Prepare orders for staging, including labeling, documentation, and ensuring packaging meets company standards.
    • Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks as needed.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and system updates.
    • Ensure that inventory is stored in an organized manner to facilitate easy access and prevent damage.
    • Report low stock levels or any inventory issues to the supervisor.
  4. Warehouse Maintenance:
    • Keep the warehouse clean and organized by removing clutter, sweeping floors, and ensuring that aisles and work areas are clear.
    • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely and in accordance with company procedures.
    • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  5. Shipping and Receiving Documentation:
    • Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and inventory logs.
    • Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and accessible for auditing purposes.
  6. Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, sorting, storing, and staging goods.
    • Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
  7. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Implement and monitor best practices for warehouse procedures and safety protocols.
    • Ensure that best practices are followed for handling products, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
  8. Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are inspected for accuracy and quality.
    • Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues with products or orders.
  9. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  10. Communication and Coordination:
    • Liaise with other departments, such as procurement, maintenance, electrical, and operations to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
    • Provide regular reports on warehouse performance and operational status to management.
  11. Equipment and Maintenance:
    • Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control such as JDE/D365.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
