Warehouse Floater with Backup Driver - Permanent Full-Time - Montreal, QC

The Warehouse floater position performs general warehouse work that involves the process of shipments, spot check, sort, consolidate load and document shipments with incredible accuracy and navigate our platform smoothly. They switch from fulfillment where they are picking and packing and sorting inventory to back end processing where they process and sort shipments and greet customers and then to general warehouse work. You will ensure shipments comply with customs laws - our business depends on it. You will also assist the fulfillment department when needed with picking and packing orders, receiving and sorting inventory.

You will collaborate with your teammates to find more efficient, cost-effective ways of doing things that are values-driven and aligned with our strategic anchors.

You work primarily out of our Montreal, QC location but are available to work out of our various locations in Montreal, QC as required.

• Process shipments meticulously
• Consolidate shipments and bags on skids to maximize space on trucks
• Wrap and label skids according to business protocols to facilitate compliance checks
• Load and unload skids on/off trucks with the use of a pallet jack
• Conduct spot checks when necessary
• Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse and branch
• Process supply orders and inventory
• Pick and pack orders
• Receive and Sort inventory
• Greet customers while representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
• Offer consultative service, answer questions and make product and service recommendations.
• Process shipments meticulously including scanning, sorting and loading onto skids.
• Take inventory and place orders for supplies.
• Extra duties from time to time.

• Safely transport client shipments on time
• Safely operate company vehicles
• Conduct inspection of vehicles for mechanical operation and/or safety issues
• Review and Report daily/weekly/Monthly maintenance
• Immediately report defects/safety issues/maintenance needs, accidents or violations
• Document and log work/rest periods in accordance with regulatory requirements and/or company policies.
• Vehicles must be kept in a clean manner at all times, garbage and personal belongings must be removed at the end of each shift
• Ability to drive 3 ton and 5 ton trucks based on operational needs
• Comply with laws/ regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
• Load and unload vehicles as required
• Collect and verify delivery instructions and shipment manifest
• Collect all supplies/returns and verify against daily route to ensure deliveries are made
• Ensure pick up and delivery are done timely and efficient manner
• Communicate delays with the dispatch officer in a timely manner
• Use Chit Chats platform and other technology deemed necessary by the company to complete the trip (i.e scan client batches, scan return batches).
• Work with supporting departments, such as compliance, branch staff,& warehouse staff in order to successfully complete trips.
• Support branch staff with scanning and sorting for EOD departures.

• Help assist the branches when they are short staff.
• Responsible to ensure full compliance with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
• Open and close branches when needed.

• Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain it during the course of employment
• Minimum three years commercial experience driving
• Clean CVOR (must report any major infractions at time of hire).
• Working knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, mechanical failure, weather conditions, etc.)
• Capacity for rapport and relationship building with supporting departments, partners and Border Officials
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks as required and provide employment recommendations
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• Class 1 safety shoes required (green triangle patch).
• Must be able to work varying shifts from Monday to Friday; 9am - 11pm.
• This is a Permanent Full-Time position.
