Warehouse Associate
The Warehouse Associate will help us keep up with the demands of a fast-paced sales office, while maintaining a fun and easygoing team atmosphere. Some of the key responsibilities are receiving, shipping and tracking orders, maintaining inventory and overseeing our counter sales. Good communication skills, self-motivation, and a desire to learn will be required. Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and the ability to reliably respond in a timely manner.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Receiving:
- Coordinate with our daily shipping company to receive deliveries in a timely manner.
- Offload shipments when they arrive and organize warehouse space.
- Receive order and notify the customer by phone or email when orders are ready to schedule delivery or pick up.
- Organize and neatly put away customer orders in designated area. Orders will be tagged with customer name and job name when the item is received.
- Communicate with freight companies with regards to damaged or lost shipments.
Shipping Out:
- Ensure stock/factory orders are sent out as requested by the customer/salesperson.
Inventory:
- Manage inventory levels with Warehouse Manager
- Ensure the warehouse is adequately stocked with inventory.
- Able to take customer orders from the retail counter and process them. That includes providing the proper job name and purchase order number. A copy of the order should be provided to the corresponding salesperson of the customer’s account.
- Maintain inventory counts and have a +/-0.5% discrepancy.
- Always keep the warehouse tidy, presentable and organized.
Counter Sales:
- Serve any walk-in customers.
- On-the-job training will be provided for our proprietary software.
- Provide outstanding customer service, with a Customer First approach to business
- Want to continuously learn and grow
- Self-educate or participate in training held in the office, when available, for products sold through the warehouse or listed in the office stock book.
- Build sustainable customer relationships and trust with customer’s account through open communication
- Assist in all customer events as required. This could be open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc.
- Perform other duties assigned by your manager.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- 3 years of relevant experience would be an asset.
- Forklift Trained and Certified
- Certified in Standard First Aid, CPR Level A or C, and AED
- Friendly, courteous, professional and confident as a representative of our office and company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Will be required to move or lift heavier items in the warehouse
- You are Self-Motivated, Creative and Resourceful
- Ready to bring positivity, energy and enthusiasm into the workplace
- Professional approach to business and the workplace
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
