Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and visionary VP of Marketing to lead Pocketpills marketing efforts and drive company growth through branding, digital marketing, performance marketing, and product marketing. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to shape the company’s digital presence, craft impactful go-to-market strategies, and lead performance marketing initiatives to ensure measurable results and growth. As the VP of Marketing, you will collaborate extensively with engineering, product development, and product design teams to ensure that marketing strategies are seamlessly integrated with product features, innovations, and customer experience. You will also lead a dynamic, results-driven marketing team, ensuring consistent and effective brand positioning across all channels, while optimizing performance through data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy that drives company growth, enhances brand recognition, and expands market share. Focus on both short-term results and long-term sustainable growth.
- Lead cross-functional alignment between marketing, sales, product development, and customer service teams to ensure consistent messaging, cohesive strategies, and efficient execution across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to define and refine marketing objectives, KPIs, and business goals, ensuring that marketing efforts align with the company’s overall strategic vision and growth targets.
- Continuously evaluate market conditions, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, and adapt marketing strategies to remain agile and responsive to emerging trends and opportunities.
- Digital Marketing & Brand Strategy:
- Oversee and optimize digital marketing efforts across various channels, including SEO, SEM, paid media, email marketing, social media, and content marketing, to enhance brand awareness, drive high-quality traffic, and increase conversions.
- Design, implement, and manage highly targeted digital advertising campaigns across multiple platforms (Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and retention.
- Leverage advanced analytics tools and dashboards to regularly track and measure campaign performance, optimizing marketing spend and identifying opportunities for improvement, ensuring data-driven decisions that maximize ROI.
- Drive the creation of engaging and innovative content that reflects brand values, educates customers, and positions the company as a thought leader in the industry.
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition and retention through both online and offline channels, including digital ads, PR, events, and partnerships.
- Product Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Lead the creation and execution of detailed product launch plans, collaborating with product development and customer success teams to ensure that new product offerings are successfully introduced to the market with clear value propositions.
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies that position products effectively, using data and customer insights to inform pricing, messaging, and promotional tactics.
- Collaborate closely with the product development teams to ensure that marketing initiatives are aligned with new product innovations and that product features are highlighted in a way that resonates with target audiences.
- Work closely with the customer success and product managers teams to monitor product adoption rates, gather real-time feedback, and continuously optimize the customer journey post-launch, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
- Continuously track market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitor activities, leveraging this information to proactively adjust marketing strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team with expertise in digital marketing, content creation, branding, and customer engagement. Provide clear direction and inspire a culture of creativity, accountability, and innovation.
- Set and communicate clear objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics for each team member, ensuring individual and team alignment with the company’s broader marketing goals.
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven work environment where the team is encouraged to experiment, iterate, and share ideas for continuous improvement and marketing innovation.
- Promote and establish cross-functional partnerships with other departments such as sales, engineering, and product design to drive consistency, alignment, and greater impact across marketing initiatives.
- Regularly assess the performance of marketing campaigns, analyzing key data points and metrics to understand the effectiveness of strategies and tactics, and make strategic adjustments based on insights from performance analysis.
- Develop and implement training and development plans to elevate the skills and capabilities of the marketing team, ensuring they stay up to date on the latest industry trends and digital marketing best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position, ideally within a fast-paced, e-commerce or online healthcare environment.
- Proven track record of scaling marketing operations and driving substantial growth for online businesses, with hands-on experience in creating and executing high-impact marketing strategies that deliver measurable results in a Canadian market.
- A strong brand advocate with a history of developing innovative and effective marketing strategies, successfully launching new products, and identifying consumer solution opportunities in competitive market segments.
- Experience working in the Canadian online business landscape, with an understanding of e-commerce, digital consumer behavior, and market-specific trends. Ability to navigate and leverage digital channels, consumer touchpoints, and local market preferences to drive successful marketing campaigns.
- Expertise in performance marketing, with deep knowledge of key metrics such as ROI, customer acquisition costs (CAC), conversion rates, customer lifetime value (CLV), and A/B testing. Proven ability to leverage data and analytics to make data-driven decisions that optimize marketing spend and maximize growth.
- Exceptional team leader and mentor, with extensive experience building, coaching, and inspiring high-performing, cross-functional teams. Capable of fostering an environment of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement while maintaining a focus on delivering business objectives.
- Strong strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, comfortable making high-level decisions while diving deep into the details of campaigns and performance analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing environment, with a passion for embracing new challenges, staying ahead of industry trends, and adapting quickly to changes in the market or company priorities.

The annual compensation is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and alignment to the market.
Location: Hybrid, with regular in-person meetings in the office in Surrey.
