Role Overview
RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the successful transition of newcomers in Canada, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need for settlement, education, and career success. Our goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all newcomers.
Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team as a volunteer. This is a critical role in supporting our organization’s mission by identifying and securing grant funding to sustain and grow our upcoming magazine. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to a variety of funding sources, including foundations & government.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential grants and funding opportunities that align with our organization’s mission and goals for the magazine.
- Analyze grant requirements, application guidelines, and deadlines to ensure compliance and successful submission.
- Collaborate with the magazine’s editorial team to gather information needed for grant applications, including project descriptions, budgets, and timelines.
- Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals that clearly articulate the value of our magazine and its impact on newcomers.
- Maintain a detailed record of grant opportunities, submissions, and outcomes to track progress and inform future strategies.
- Monitor and adhere to grant deadlines, ensuring all submissions are completed on time.
- Assist in post-award grant management, including reporting and fulfilling any additional requirements from funding sources.
