Videographer Job Description (Full-Time)

Job Title: Videographer

Department: Brand Marketing

Reports To: Director, Brand Marketing

Overview: This position focuses on capturing video content that tells the story of the Elks Brand - our football players & staff, partnerships, and impacts in Northern Alberta communities. The Videographer will be responsible for shooting all Edmonton Elks games (home and away), special events, press conferences, select practices, and other events as needed. Video content will be used across all Edmonton Elks platforms, including on social media, website, in-stadium, and other promotional materials. In addition to video duties, this position will also provide photography support.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Shoot all Elks games (home and away), press conferences, media avails, special events, and select practices with a focus on social media.
  2. Work collaboratively with the Director, Brand Marketing to manage Basecamp projects and prioritize work accordingly.
  3. Organize and archive video library to ensure proper naming and navigation.
  4. Work with Community department to create content that amplifies EE community involvement and awareness.
  5. Develop strategic video concepts from ideation to final approval, creating a storyline for the Elks brand, partners, and players.
  6. Photography support when needed.
  7. Consistently implement graphic elements through still and motion graphics that reinforce the team’s brand standards.
  8. Collaborate with partnership fulfillment team to complete video assets according to partner contracts.
  9. Support in-stadium creative production, alongside Production Specialist.
  10. Stay on top of key industry trends, with a focus on sports videography to drive growth of Elks social media channels and audience.

Skills & Requirements

  1. Passionate about excellent creative execution.
  2. Excels with Adobe Creative Cloud platforms, with a focus on Adobe Premiere.
  3. Knowledge of building content for digital output, focusing on social media and web.
  4. Experience with photography, videography, video and audio editing, colour theory and typography.
  5. Need to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  6. Well organized and a strong communicator with advanced problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to proof your own work for corrections, and proof others.

Experience

  1. Minimum 1-2 years of working videography experience.
  2. Willing to present a portfolio of work that represents a diverse creative skill set.
  3. Experience with sports shooting (video and photo) preferred.

Education & Training

  1. University Degree or Diploma in Design, Photography, or Video Editing and/or related work experience.
