CBC News Edmonton is seeking a skilled video producer to join our visual storytelling team. You are an audience-focused professional committed to telling visual stories that reflect the diversity of Edmonton, Alberta and the Prairies. When a story breaks, you are the first person on the scene, beating the competition with the freshest shots and latest developments.
You also love to come up with your own original story ideas. Collaborating with colleagues, you oversee the entire production process from planning to distributing the final product. Your platform delivery list includes National News, CBC Edmonton’s FAST Channel, CBC YouTube, CBC GEM, TikTok, cbc.ca, radio, and television–you know how to tailor your storytelling to each of these platforms and their audiences.
You understand the people who live and work in Alberta’s distinct political climate and energy-driven economy. You love it when you meet someone with a different perspective and life experience than your own.
Possessing a positive and collaborative attitude, you care about the people you work with and have a deep appreciation for different perspectives, opinions, and experiences. You live and promote the values of diversity, inclusion, and respectful work culture. You are hungry to learn new things and receive feedback on your work. In turn, you love sharing your high level skills and experience with others as a mentor in the craft of visual storytelling.
This role requires full-time on site presence.
Please note: Normal working days will be Wednesday to Sunday. On weekends you will be assigned to work with the national reporter for the Prairies.
