Sturgeon Public Schools is a forward-thinking, inclusive, and empowering school division dedicated to providing a world-class education in a dynamic learning environment. We are actively seeking enthusiastic, visionary and experienced leaders to join our team as Vice Principals for the 2025-2026 school year at Sturgeon Composite High School and Landing Trail School. In addition to the named locations, we are also looking to establish a pool of qualified candidates for potential future Vice Principal vacancies across the Division.

As a Vice Principal, you will be at the heart of an innovative educational experience, working in close partnership with the Principal, staff, students, and families to create a thriving school culture where every learner is supported to reach their fullest potential. You will take on a key leadership role, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the school while also leading initiatives that focus on elevating student achievement, fostering academic excellence, and enhancing social-emotional well-being.

Landing Trail School is located in Gibbons, Alberta, has a student population of approximately 400 students, with approximately 80 students accessing non-denominational Christian faith-based (LOGOS) programming. From preschool to grade 4, Landing Trail School offers dynamic and well-rounded programming to support and nurture students' development to prepare them for a bright future.

Sturgeon Composite High School is one of the largest rural high schools in Alberta and is located just minutes north of the cities of Edmonton and St. Albert. Sturgeon Composite High School has a dedicated team working collaboratively to provide exemplary education to approximately 950 students from grades 10-12. Programming includes a broad range from academics and arts to Career and Technology Studies; Knowledge & Employability (K&E) and Special Education classes. With a welcoming environment, the school prepares students to be successful through a balance of excellent programs and activities.

1.0 Full Time Probationary Vice Principal at Sturgeon Composite High School; August 25, 2025 to June 30, 2026

1.0 Full Time Temporary Vice Principal at Landing Trail School; August 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026

  • Inclusive Education - leader in differentiated instruction and assessment, skills supporting the development of IPPs and experience supporting students with challenging behaviours

Educational & Professional Requirements

  • Valid Alberta Teacher Certificate or eligibility for same is essential
  • Advanced digital literacy skills are essential
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset
  • Graduate coursework or degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of successful classroom experience is essential

Additional Information
