Berens River School is a Nursery to Grade 9 School with approximately 400 students. Berens River is a community of approximately 3,546 located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, a 4 hour drive north of Winnipeg. This lakeside town offers community services such as a general store, Northern store and a community hall. The beautiful surrounding area is a recreational paradise offering a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and canoeing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• Master's Degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
• At least five years of teaching experience and previous administration experience would be an asset
• Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction
• Experience working in a northern community
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
• Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology
• Ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement
• Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems
• Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
• Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
